BAD OUT THERE
Frank Carillo & the Bandoleros
Jezebel Records

On his new disc, "Bad Out There," Carillo offers driving roots rock that demonstrates the singer-guitarist's readness to emerge as a solo artist.  He's worked as a backing artist for Peter Frampton and John Hammond and has written songs for Carly Simon and Joan Jett but his own forte is a tasty mixture of blues, country and rock.  His gruff vocals add a nice level of authenticity to the tales he spins, which often detour into Tom Waits lunacy and that's a compliment.
